Big Springfield is expected to reach the same level as Darwin by 2030 with more than 105,000 people. As for the area, it covers 2,860 hectares in Ipswich and is Australia’s largest masterplan city. Ipswich is one of Queensland’s main pillars of the region’s western development corridor, which is becoming Australia’s fourth-fastest-growing economy. From 2011 to 2036, the population of Ipswich will grow at an annual rate of 4.6%, faster than all other Queensland government districts. Its population will reach 500,000 by 2036, when more than 530,000 people will settle down in Ipswich.
