Hong Kong student satisfaction
The report shows that after returning to their home country, Asian graduates studying in Australia spend an average of two and a half months looking for a job, with an average salary of $2040 a month. In response, 72% of Asian graduates stated that they are satisfied with the return on international education investment, among which international students in Hong Kong, China, are most satisfied with the return on investment in international education. It is noteworthy that Indian students have the lowest satisfaction with the return on investment in international education. 55% of Indian students are satisfied with British universities, and only 43% of Indian students are satisfied with Australian universities.

It is reported that currently there are 550,000 international students in Australia, who have contributed 22 billion Australian dollars to the Australian economy. At present, many Australian universities are targeting India to achieve diversification of overseas registered student sources and reduce dependence on Chinese students.

International students need work experience
In addition, the preliminary analysis also shows that Asian students have a very rich learning experience in Australia, but they need more work experience to improve their current employment status. In response to this problem, Alvis Zhou from Singapore stated that he chose to study in Australia because he is looking for an environment that can integrate with different peoples. Zhou said that this will allow students to better prepare for the future work and allow them to take a one-step lead in their careers, but Australian universities can improve their learning experience by providing more internship programs.

In this regard, Shane Dillon, co-founder of IAJN, said that the “anti-cultural shocks” and lack of employment support that international students receive after returning home have reduced their satisfaction with the return on investment in international education. Dillon said that Australian universities need to better manage the recruitment of international students so as to ensure that the commitments made by international recruiters for citizenship, work in Australia, and high income are accurate. International students can have a realistic expectation from the very beginning.
