After receiving a joint complaint from more than 40,000 Australian families, four energy suppliers decided to provide a discount for their energy costs.

According to Report No. 9, as part of the 9Saver Power Campaign, 44,000 households can obtain additional gas and electricity discounts, alleviating the pressure on their living expenses.

This project will allow consumers to arrange their energy use more efficiently to obtain greater discounts, which can also reduce the retailer’s costs.

The four energy companies are Alinta Energy, Click Energy, Powershop and Kleenheat respectively. They agree to provide up to 32% discounts to reduce energy use and supply rates.

People in related organizations said: “Because of the high cost of electricity, people realize that they cannot wait for the government to solve the problem. So they are now acting and fighting for their rights.”

9 Data collected by Saver shows that 90% of respondents have sacrificed quality of life in order to save electricity, such as switching off air conditioning in the summer and reducing the use of heaters in the winter.

The group with a higher pressure on energy bills is more than 40-year-old Australians who face issues such as energy bills, daily necessities, loans, and tuition fees. 92% believe that retailers need to provide 12 months of energy package fees to consumers.
